At CSDC des Aurores bor\u00e9ales, school transportation is offered free of charge to all eligible students. Our goal is to provide safe, efficient, quality transportation at a cost the Board can afford.<\/p>

We remind you of the importance of contacting the school each time your child is late or absent during the school day. This proactive approach allows our secretarial staff to efficiently monitor attendance, and we are required by the Ministry of Education to provide a reason for absence.<\/p>\n

Compulsory schooling<\/u><\/strong> :<\/strong> Pupils who have reached the age of 6 must attend school until the age of 18, or until they graduate. Under the compulsory schooling rule, pupils are admitted to 1re<\/sup> year in September of any school year, provided they have reached the age of six (6) by December 31 of the same calendar year. If a person under the age of compulsory schooling is enrolled in an elementary school, the present applies during the period for which he or she is enrolled, as if he or she had reached the age of compulsory schooling.<\/p>

School staff responsibilities<\/u><\/strong> : <\/strong>The school maintains a daily register of all students' absences and reasons for absence through Aspen. According to B009-P School attendance<\/em><\/a>For each absence, there is communication between the school and the home. Where applicable, original supporting documentation from the physician must be retained for two years in the student's Ontario Student Record (OSR). At the end of each month, the principal or designate reviews student attendance data in Aspen. Together with school staff, the principal takes a critical look at each student to identify those at risk. Once recurrent absences have been identified, the next steps are documented using the B009-F1 Managing absences or late arrivals <\/em>and stored in the student's DSO.<\/p>

Prolonged absences<\/u><\/strong> :\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

If you expect your child to be absent for an extended period of time (e.g., sporting events such as field hockey tournaments and dance competitions, or travel), you must inform the school so that the principal can fill out the school exemption form.<\/p>
