Student in difficulty

Special education programs are offered to students who have been identified by the Identification, Placement and Review Committee (IPRC). This includes students with physical or intellectual difficulties and students with learning, communication or behavioural difficulties. The identified student is enrolled in regular classes. The student may require modifications to the school program to ensure success. Any modifications are detailed in an Individual Education Plan (IEP); each plan is prepared by the teacher of the courses in question and the special education teacher. The plan takes into account the student's special needs and attempts to meet those needs in an environment with as few restrictions as possible. The student's needs may also be determined through a comprehensive academic assessment; the student's abilities, learning style, level of functioning and curriculum requirements are assessed.

Alternative Education

This program allows us to offer remediation of some core concepts in order to reintegrate students into the regular classroom, add flexibility to the school's programming, and implement strategies that will allow students to succeed.
